About

The North American Camel Organization was born in March of 2019.

As over 140 nations met at the inaugural meeting of the

International Camel Organization,

members from each Pan-American nation, north of the Panama Canal, bound together in commitment to support and promote the responsible reintroduction of 'Camel Culture'.

Mission

The North American Camel Organization's mission is to create 21st century awareness of the global benefits from the reintroduction of the 'Camel Culture'.  The NACO reflects the mission of its parent, International Camel Organization, while specifically promoting the responsible reintroduction of 'Camel Culture', from the Panama Canal to the far northern reaches of Canada.

Values

The North American Camel Organization and it's parent, ICO, seek to responsibly promote  a global reintroduction of Camel Culture.  This demands a respect for the environment, at a level worthy of 21st century concerns.  It demands a broad view of human population and our interaction with other species.  It offers new pathways in science and medicine.  It supports responsible entrepreneurship development of industry and vehicles of distribution.

Our chief aim is awareness.  As such, we will consistently act as a clearing house for information related to the responsible reintroduction of Camel Culture.

Why Camels ?

The Camel has long been a symbol of resilience.  Producing nearly five times the quantity of milk than cattle, and potential meat supply, Camels offer a more symbiotic relationship with human population.  Research continues to identify additional health benefits to humans from ingesting Camel milk and flesh.

Why North America ?

The North American continent offers the full spectrum of Camel-compatible landscape.  It has existed as one of the world's greatest food-production regions for centuries.  The reintroduction of Camel Culture stands to preserve and enhance this legacy.

Why Now ?

In the 21st century conversation of 'Climate Change', 'Plant-Based Food Products, Disease Prevention and Population Growth, one single word answer appears continuously... Camel.  The pastoral nature of Camel Culture may assist humans in answering increasing demands in health and nutrition.
